Surely more than one person woke up these days sweating profusely upon seeing some election results and the terrible characters who supported those fateful sums. The haters, the fatalists, the deniers, the flat-earthers, the antifeminists, the violators of all coherence, the supremacists, the false prophets are winning., The worshippers of verbal skunks, the defenders of murderers, the people who wield contempt ready to expel and torture immigrants, homosexuals, those from the other side, those who are different from them. Racists, anti-Semites, agitators of contempt, and promoters of ignorance are triumphing. Those who say that everything can be solved with an iron fist, giving the forces of order permission to impose their wishes at gunpoint. Those who apply the gospel by portraying Jesus (or Buddha, Muhammad, Zoroaster, whoever they choose and whoever suits them best) as a leader happy with the misfortune of others and with the interests of the few. Are we returning to the worst of times, and is there no way out?

While contemporary musicians react, and they help us renew the catalog of tunes to confront so much barbarity (and don't force us again to sing old words of Cuban trova, of Quilapallún or other outdated heroes of half a century ago) we started putting together a playlist where we decided to add with the words «"Song"» y «"Protest"», To see what we could find among the deluge of titles Spotify throws at us, we chose from what our intensive search on the digital platform revealed. And we put together 16 recordings made in Latin America and Spain, to achieve a diverse list of productions of rock, pop, punk, metal, tango, experimental, folk, ska and other sound species. In some cases, there's a serious attitude and a willingness to raise a fuss against the establishment, while in others, the artists mock the solemn demeanor of the strict and humorously note that laughter is part of this agitation. Let's see how the radicals and those who are missing a good laugh in their lives take it.

Finally: I hope Trueno, Lali, Ca7riel and others who have already expressed their opposition to a stupid clown like Javier Milei becoming president of Argentina, They are encouraged to transmit their messages to their followers in musical format, so that there are new choruses against imbecility and fascism. Let's hope that happens. I hope so.
