As you already know: Today, August 11, 2016, Gustavo Cerati would have turned 57 years old. Even so, despite his physical absence, we continue to celebrate his music. We still believe he was one of the greatest artists on the continent and that his songs will continue to influence future generations for a long time.

If we let ourselves be carried away by fantasy, We can imagine that, if Cerati were still alive, perhaps we would already have at least one more album of his authorship among us and we would surely hear him giving his opinion on the groups of the moment. He would probably like Tame Impala, For example, even if he felt he had already heard his themes elsewhere, at another time. Perhaps, as was common with him in recent years, He would be starting a side project with an Argentinian new wave musician, ...in his good and fruitful struggle against the passage of time. Perhaps he would be happy with the new vinyl boom and would possibly recount on his Instagram account how he acquired it in a hidden shop in New York. some lost copy of High Llamas or Catherine Wheel.  And if we continue speculating, perhaps he wanted to disappear from the scene for a while, and go off with his guitar and a few electronic toys to a little-known island on the map to create new material. without the pressure of any record company tyrant or the desperate cries of his fans as he passes by. We can't imagine Cerati being too happy with the show Cirque du Soleil is now putting on with his music. Perhaps he would have reacted the same way as Anyone would assume this when they hear his compositions in elevator music versions.

We miss Cerati and wanted to pay him a special tribute by compiling some of his best songs reinterpreted by great female voices from this hemisphere. The tribute spans from Argentina to Mexico, passing through Paraguay, Chile, and Colombia. It also includes, as a curious detail, the live version of Signs, ...from Finnish singer Tarja Turunen, former lead singer of Nightwish, who lived in Buenos Aires for many years. And to top it all off, obviously, I couldn't fail to include the wonderful Mercedes Sosa, accompanied by Cerati himself, performing Zone of Promises. It's a good compilation. We hope you enjoy it.

Happy birthday, teacher, wherever you are.
