As part of the tribute we want to pay this week to women linked to contemporary music, We set about building a sample of twenty songs that would demonstrate, once again (as if it were necessary), the ever-growing list of female names in the Latin American guitar scene. Although their participation in the total percentage of performers of said instrument remains low, it is neither responsible nor accurate to dismiss their presence among the spiritual daughters of Sister Rosetta Tharpe, whom many rightly credit as one of the creators of rock and roll. Exactly: Rock was also born as a female genre, and despite the denialist efforts of some ignorant chauvinists, every day that passes, the female resistance jumps up to confirm the undeniable.

In this playlist we have tried to be varied in our selection. We have included around twenty songs from different genres., ranging from experimentation and the fusion of genres mixed with local folklore, through the alternative trends of the moment, to the most extreme expressions of today's metal. We have artists from Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Peru and Mexico, Musicians who shine both as solo artists and in the formation of bands, some of them internationally renowned. This list includes world-class groups such as The Warning, Nervosa, Eruca Sativa, and, on a more specialized level, Fin del Mundo and Descartes a Kant. We have virtuoso instrumentalists like Isa Basilio, Isa Nielsen and Badi Assad, and new proposals like Luna Cáustica, Silveria and Chini.png.

As I said, here are sixty-eight minutes of good music, Twenty tracks organized like an exciting roller coaster made to celebrate a week full of well-deserved recognition of Latin American female musical expression. Welcome!
