As a music lover It's fascinating to make a selection of Colombian rock. Listening to the work of so many colleagues, seeing the quantity and quality of proposals we have in the country; new bands that captivate from the start, old bands with a legacy and very important historical significance, also knowing that there are a number of things that will be left out either due to lack of knowledge or neglect.

This playlist features bands and artists from Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, Ibagué, Bucaramanga, Piedecuesta, Barranquilla, and Santa Marta. Although the name is "Colombian Rock," there's a wide spectrum of sounds and a certain flexibility with the word "rock." Here you'll find pure rock, some punk (like IRA), metal (like Patricio Stiglich), hardcore (like El Sagrado), electronic sounds (like Monitor), blues-influenced rock (like 6 Peatones or Carlos Reyes), and pop (like Juan Pablo Vega), all of it, in my opinion, music made with heart. We have everything from legendary bands like Kraken, Aterciopelados, and 1280 Almas to new sounds from young bands like El Otro Grupo and Telebit. There are also important solo artists like Andrés Correa and Tappan. I think it's important to showcase and share this diverse and warm selection of bands and artists from Colombia with people.
