Editor's note: Our friend, the Colombian singer-songwriter Alvaro Buendía, He made a list of 31 songs that fascinate him, and we immediately offered to publish them on Zonagirante.com with a review explaining how he made this selection, which, in our opinion, is perfect for starting the weekend.

I made this compilation of some of the Latin American music I like. I wanted to focus on alternative music, and although I plan to do another one later with more traditional and popular genres, this one is dedicated to a more intimate, less rumba-like, and more experimental sound. Those songs to listen to that touch your chest and head more than your feet.

There are people there I admire very much, from Cerati, who has been a life companion, to Elkin Robinson I only know him now, but he's hitting me hard in my heart.

I must also say that the Colombian quota is much higher than the rest, But since it's a playlist of only music that I really like, it's also the music I know best. It's not an investigative work, and although most of the music there is no more than 15 years old, I couldn't resist including Lucho Bermúdez and Petrona Martínez.

Start the playlist with High seas (the donkey ahead) more than because of a conceited gesture because it is the song that helped me to set the mood of the playlist. From my latest album, this is the one that has that vibe I wanted to focus on.
