vigilante

By José Gandue @Gandour

The Chilean Iván Muñoz (better known in the music scene as Vigilant), has fulfilled a wish that more than one fan of intense electronic music imagined: a good industrial-style cover of one of the most famous songs by their compatriots Los Prisioneros: precisely Move the industries.

This popular song, initially released in 1986 as the first single from the album Kicking stones, Built with synthesizers, samplers, and electronic drums, this song proved to be the most effective way for Los Prisioneros to overcome the Pinochet-era censorship that weighed on their work and to achieve massive success with audiences in their country and, subsequently, throughout much of Latin America. Interestingly, this song was not included in the tribute album that Chilean bands performed in 2000, so in a way, we can also say that Vigilante repays that debt with a powerful, engaging, and respectful version of the original composition. A good moment for reminiscing.
