Few artists feel less pressure to produce magnificent pieces than Alejandro Gómez, better known as Perrosky. This Chilean, who, along with his brother Álvaro, owns the legendary independent record label Algo Records, And he releases his albums when and how he wants, with no other obligation, it seems, than to enjoy the process, to do it as he feels at the moment, and, of course, respecting the general concept of what a song can and should be. Why, indeed, Perrosky creates well-rounded compositions, tunes that shine because they always complete the concept, and when they finish being broadcast in stereo, One has verified time and time again that they begin, develop and end without anything being left over or missing. This can be seen again on their new album A real one, a compilation of seventeen recordings whose journey resembles a pleasant photo album, of memories of all kinds, made with cameras of all kinds, from the classic Instamatic, the unforgettable Polaroid or any of the sophisticated machines of these days.

The photographic reference comes to mind when we listen to this material, because, just as in A real one We hear tracks made solely with acoustic string instruments, and then, in a second, we feel electricity, then long moments of pianos and shorter ones of digital sensations. Here you'll find shoegaze, blues, classic rock, country, and folk. Similarly, although it feels as if some tracks were recorded directly in the countryside, with the intervention of wind instruments, farm animals, and children's voices, and then the next moment you feel the pristine quality of the studio, The unit is preserved; everything is neatly tied together in one package. What makes this album so compact amidst its diversity? The answer lies in the artist's simple humor, his tenderness, and his honesty in the process. And that, my friends, is not easy to preserve in the music of this century. This is a mature man who is driven by the simple desire to make good rock and roll., Without falling into the traps of trends or the suggestions of being someone he's not, he's confident that there are people everywhere in the world eager to listen to the pleasant pieces he creates. Tens of thousands of people around the world confirm this.

Featured tunes? The first one that comes to mind is Simple, A delightful ballad with emotive lyrics, whose words seem to summarize the meaning of this entire production. Another one is Wild horse, a country theme and distorted vocals, with a children's theme that any adult can listen to without feeling self-conscious. And, if I may make a third recommendation, I would mention the last cut, Give it the sun. Perrosky, in his latest works, has allowed itself to close with its most experimental side, in which, surely, more time is given to play with mixing and the inclusion of novel elements that do not intervene in his other recordings, and in this case, permission is given to layer many reverberated vocals, placed at the same volume as the other instruments, seeking sensations closer to sonic psychedelia. Even so, Perrosky still stands out, even though he later does the complete opposite, with an acoustic guitar and six nylon strings. That's how it is, as we've been trying to explain from the beginning: A real one It's a fifty-minute journey where the artist does what he wants with what he has, and yet, It always convinces because it preserves its spirit.
