The video clip is a tool for preserving memory. When it is created, The intention of its inventors is that whoever sees it will remember the images and relate them to the song that gave excuse for its creation. If we only remember the sequence of images produced in front of the camera and fail to connect them with the preceding sound, the product has failed. If the song overpowers its visual accompaniment, the video will immediately lose its impact. Memory is a difficult customer to convince., And even more so when thousands and millions of new audiovisual proposals are exploding on our screens every day.

We have selected eight Latin American videos, with very different budgets and production techniques, reviewed in no particular order, which we believe may one day connect us to 2015 as a musical year. We believe that these pieces They fulfill that objective of creating a long-lasting memory and do a great favor to the sound that accompanies them. This is the first part:

Field – Heartbreaks (Campo Remix):

Juan Campodónico, Uruguayan, permanent member of Bajofondo Tango Club, released one of the best albums in the region in the last 10 years, an extraordinary mix of funk, cumbia, pop nostalgia and tango, and his work was promoted with high-quality videos. The last clip, Heartbreaks (Campo Remix) It is inspired by stories related to the various facets of African American religion., where the rhythm and candor of the dance is the key to rising to better spiritual realms. The editing is very fun and makes the song, memorable on its own, stick in our senses for a long time.

Bomba Estéreo – We Are Two

This was Bomba Estéreo's best year in their career. They went from being an alternative band known in specialized music circles to being a massive worldwide sensation. His album Sunrise This allowed them to transition from an electronic cumbia group to incorporating new textures into their music, enabling them to reach every corner of the planet more intensely, without abandoning their Colombian essence. "Somos dos," the second single from this project, recorded in Tayrona National Park in the Colombian Caribbean, perfectly captures the spark of this paradisiacal location, the ocean waves, and all the obvious and joyful elements of a perfect youthful vacation. The video perfectly complements Li Saumet's sensual vocal style and her carefree delivery of the song's chorus. Exquisite product, worthy of being displayed in any terrestrial space.

Toto YuleléMontevideo

And many will ask, "Who is this? Why is he here?" This video was selected because of the effectiveness of its simplicity, because of its infectious rhythm and the clarity of its arguments. But, especially, because a great song requires images that encompass it, and Going out dancing in the corners of the Uruguayan capital was enough to express its entire content. This clip serves to respond, with all the flavor of the case, to those artists who think that expensive videos are the only ones that deserve to stand out.

UtopiansFrom afar

This is one of the most interesting bands in Argentine rock right now., for having known how to use punk to his advantage And they've created short, powerful songs that leave no one unmoved by their musical quality. Their videos are also eye-catching and high-quality. From afar, the fourth promotional track from the album Vandal, It features an intense animation that knows how to properly present this western punk theme., ...putting the band on a chase through a desert straight out of an old movie, pursuing flourishing zombies who fall skinned at the artists' feet. While we watch this carnage, the chorus with its intense "Oh oooooooooooooh Oh" gets stuck in the back of our minds, making us shamelessly replay the clip in search of more colorful blood. Bright.
