Perhaps the effort to create a video with the photographic power achieved in this clip is due to the fact that Behind it all is the only Latin American musician to have won two Oscars. It would also be unfair to forget that we are talking about a character who, from a young age, has happily connected with the poetry of the land and with the constant murmur that the folklore of the continent contains within its depths.
Gustavo Santaolalla He is one of the leading figures in contemporary Latin American sound. We have seen his distinctive work as a producer with artists and bands such as Cafe Tacvba, Caifanes, Divididos, La Vela Puerca, Julieta Venegas, Puya, and many others. We have also seen his work as a member of such outstanding projects as, in his early days with Rainbow and in recent years with Bajofondo Tango Club. He knows the sound of the south and constantly participates in building its sound.
As part of the promotion for his latest solo album, Qhapaq Nan (Inca Trail), Santaolalla presents Gestation, an impeccable audiovisual piece filmed in northwestern Argentina, in arid lands of deep folklore, and in two minutes it gives us impressive postcards of the landscape, where he imprints his personal journey and where the power of the instrumental piece needs no words to explain anything. The behind-the-scenes work of Juan Pablo Chillón and Nicolás Richat, under the direction of Mariano Gerbino and Emiliano Serra. Likewise, as we mentioned at the beginning, Santaolalla's cinematic sensibility is evident in the final result.
