Would it be an exaggeration to say that Kinky Is it one of the best electronic pop-rock bands in the hemisphere? Is it too much to say that, after 18 years of history, Do they still belong to the select group of Latin American musical offerings that have stood the test of time? Can we insist on its ability to endure and its relevance, overcoming obstacles like few others have managed to do?
We allow ourselves to say all this because the truth is that this Mexican group, After 8 albums, several international awards, stints with various record labels, and all kinds of sound experiments (including an Unplugged album, released two years ago, which, truth be told, wasn't the best moment of his career), he has managed to survive remarkably well and emerge with his head held high, regardless of the criticism from some and the forgetfulness of others. Kinky He still has the ability to make good songs and to be in tune with the times we live in.
To confirm this premise, it presents Disappear, A video of understated quality that accompanies a recording with an elegant result which embraces house sounds and is crafted with a fine pop touch. Kinky knows how to make songs that have good potential on commercial radio, without losing the taste or delicacy in their work. The clip's editing perfectly complements the sense of a sonic journey conveyed by the audio, adding the colors of expansive landscapes as the story unfolds. It occasionally incorporates text, without falling into the bad taste of most "lyric videos"«The words are visual resources that complement the moment; they don't overwhelm the screen. In short, this is a good audiovisual work. It knows how to present the return of these Monterrey natives to their electronic origins.
We're glad to hear from Kinky again and see that they've retained their freshness. Some, not without a lot of reason, will say that, after a few failed attempts, It's good to see them taking the original route. In any case, we're happy for them. and for the good health of the continent's music.
