babasonicos

If someone were to go through the hardships that Adrián Dárgelos, leader of the Argentine band Babasónicos, He's had to live through what he's had in his latest videos; we would feel deep pity and compassion for him. His album Romanticism, The film, launched two years ago, is now closing its cycle, and the images that accompany this curtain-dropping have an unusual drama.

Cellophane, The latest video to be released contains stark images of Dárgelos, his presence pitifully felt, as he travels the streets near industrial areas of Buenos Aires in a broken wheelchair, while the song's mournful melody perfectly captures an inexplicable sorrow. Everything leads to a ludicrous death, and everything points to a moment of relief at the very end. Meanwhile, in stark contrast, an unexpected alter ego, a werewolf, also sings, confined in a cage that does nothing to prevent the sorrow from permeating the atmosphere. In short, a video that succeeds in being depressing and adds to the sadness of a song that seems to have been written on a rainy Sunday afternoon.
