Upon seeing Clandestine Star, the new video from the Argentinian artist Mauro Valenti, This raises (without malice): How long will it take us to surpass the information generated in the eighties?, which continues to be assimilated into many of the cultural works of the time, thirty years later? Of course, if we are aware of what is happening and we start to see, for example, that one of the most successful television series of the moment is Stranger Things, And many long for those times where the video star had truly killed radio, It is clear that the DNA of the current global artistic moment has much (for some, too much) from those times in its essence.
Note, no one is saying we dislike the clip reviewed here. No, on the contrary: The result is pleasing because of its ingenuity., because of its blatant use of resources (the tiny snippets of famous films used in the editing) and because it coherently appeals to nostalgia in the color and aesthetics of what was done thirty years ago, creating a suitable graphic feel for a song that seems to have been made in the era of Charly García's old records, in moments close to Modern Clix and others. The resulting video, created by Valenti himself, is believable in its entirety, and modern toys certainly wouldn't have been on his side. The elements used help the viewer enter a different world and understand the meaning of the recording. Valenti succeeds in his self-managed goal of provoking a good reaction to his work. clandestine star It's a captivating song, firmly rooted in the classic Argentine rock tradition, and its music video perfectly complements the composition. The 1980s setting, in this case, allows us to celebrate a truly excellent result.
clandestine star This is the second single released by this artist from his album Cynical Dance, recently published by Mínima Discos. A good production that deserves to be listened to carefully.
