Electric Diamond It's an interesting band, a group with potential to watch in the coming years, that Their catalog features well-constructed songs that attract attention. It's a project worth following, hoping that in time they'll reach a point where we can all use the adjectives that their press officer (or whoever) tries to get the media to use in our articles. For now, despite their suggestive musical work, They are being overwhelmed by a marketing campaign that is beyond their capabilities.
The third single from his album B, The Hours, It's a complete, fun, cleverly edited song that deserved a less cliché video. This clip, which mixes fighting roosters, silicone-enhanced girls, poorly synchronized fights between barroom machos, sponsor-friendly alcohol, tattoos, and the occasional rock and roll hairstyle, is somewhat obvious and favors a caricature that does not help the group.
Is the rock and roll universe so limited that it's inevitable to fall into the same old patterns? Or are we simply witnessing a musical project that, in its journey of maturation, repeats the steps of others while forging its own path? We'll see what happens to this Colombian band as time goes on.
