The new Chilean alternative pop scene is making a curious effort. by trying to make a difference with their image management. Lately, we've seen a great deal of effort from many of the artists in that scene to develop their imagery in their graphic work and videos. There's definitely a desire to establish distinctions. and break gender stereotypes, Regardless of whether they sometimes border on the incomprehensible or the absurd, such an effort deserves applause. although sometimes the results confuse us.
In the case of Pedropiedra, artist of the record label Burn your head And a leading exponent of the current southern sound wave, we see him promoting what will be his new album with Every day, a striking and good-humored clip, which begins with a bizarre interview conducted by a Haitian amateur media outlet And where, from one moment to the next, the same singer ends up dancing with the cameraman from the report. and putting together a party full of colorful choreographies. The song, a simple dance tune with a catchy melody, benefits from this novel presentation, as it adds humor and charm and features Pedropiedra. as a character willing to make fun of himself and share a surprising freshness.
Every day It's not a song that will define an era, But it does its job well as a pop delight. That said, the video does a good job of being original and creating a lasting impression on the viewer. And that's something Pedropiedra needs while he's releasing his new album. And the audience for good Chilean pop music too.
