Ennui – Turn on the television
The formula is simple, but that doesn't always guarantee the same results: A power trio stands in a white studio and demonstrates, throughout the recording, the strength of their performance and the intriguing articulation of their gestures, all in black and white. "Television" effects are then added to bring color and intensity to the final video. What contributes to the good result of this video is that the editing is agile and entertaining. And, as a bonus, they have a catchy, good song on their hands, making it easier to watch the product again and again. A pleasing result.
Artificial - Beach
These Chileans, as soon as they appear on screen, immediately make a good impression. Ordinary people, the kind you'd meet at a stadium or a bar, and when you hear them, Without the need for exaggerated aesthetic displays or outlandish poses, we can confirm how fun they are on stage. The video appears to be home-recorded, using projections of summer vacation memories, but that doesn't make it any less fun or effective, because it's accompanied by a song with a brilliant melody and delicate performance. Now that's what we call indie rock!.
The Ex – Self-defense
Almost three years ago, we first heard and were blown away by the work of this quartet from Mendoza and their debut album. We consider their album, Primera Temprada, one of the best albums of 2016. And we were eager to see where they would go next, after making quite a splash around Latin America, presenting their unique brand of punk and their profound, yet playful, political activism. Now we see them again with renewed spirit and challenging the establishment in new ways. With a beautifully photographed video and vibrant color palette, they return to declare that the fight isn't over and that, rather, it's time to prepare for their next battles. We're certain they'll be making waves. No doubt about it.
