The Fox Zapata – Incredible
She's only released one song and we already know that we're looking at an artist we shouldn't lose sight of, because she can surprise us with great things. Her voice, her attitude, her exuberant presence, her unique and unconditional tenderness, and her name (oh my god, her name), it all makes a great package. Peru was already hinting at its burgeoning female indie pop scene, but this has pleasantly surprised us. Her song instantly tugs at our heartstrings, and the video is surprisingly fun. Sure, some fool will be scandalized by the artist sharing a bed with three men and a woman, touching her tattoos, and dancing in front of them while they eat breakfast, but that won't stop us from wanting to watch it again and again, searching for new details each time. A promising start for a woman who will surely give us plenty to talk about in the coming years.
Tequendama – Stranger
For those unfamiliar with the origins of this Colombian project, here's the explanation: This quartet is comprised of musicians who played in a wide variety of popular Bogotá bands, such as Ultrágeno, Catedral, Ciegos Sordomudos, Aterciopelados, Burning Caravan, and Zyderal, among others. In other words, when they came together, they immediately entered the Bogotá music scene with the label of "supergroup.". From the very beginning, we knew they were going to sell us on a lot of power, and that this would be reflected on stage. Well, the moment of truth has arrived. They took advantage of their performance at the last edition of Rock al Parque, recording everything they did on stage, and then edited it together in an intense, non-stop production. The weight of each member's experience is evident in their trajectory, and their sound is sure to have a strong impact on rock fans in this part of the world. Here, simply, is the first effective example of that.
José Biggs – Ghosts
It's been a while since we've heard from this artist, who always entertained us with eye-catching videos. He's back, and this time he brings us an audiovisual work filmed in Mexico, full of color, a disco vibe, and a seventies look, where Biggs sings with the biggest drag queen we've seen in recent times. What this Chilean musician does can be described as mature pop, with a solid structure and convincing songs. And what he does in his witty videos reinforces the result. A timely way to regain the public's attention.
