As we've mentioned in previous articles, Renata Nieto, the Ecuadorian artist who presents her solo project under the name LaTorre, is (and may well be) one of the most exciting new voices in Latin American music today. Her work is a revival of the symphonic roots of Ecuadorian nationalism, such as the pasillo and the albazo, blended with contemporary electro-pop, resulting in a catalog of songs that captivate and enthrall the listener from the very first listen. Furthermore, LaTorre is known for its meticulously crafted and beautifully produced promotional videos, and this release is no exception. Each frame of this video clip is a work of art, due to the coherence of its choreography and the fine photographic details. It's a brilliant piece of work that didn't require a large budget, but rather a high level of intelligence and a special sensitivity to achieve its goal. It deserves a standing ovation.
Criminals Crew – The darkness of the shadow
It's very rare to hear music news, especially from the rock scene, coming out of the Colombian city of Villavicencio. So, we should take advantage of the fact that some video material has arrived from the Eastern Plains, and with a quality that definitely catches the eye, to dedicate a few minutes to it. In this case, we have the latest video from a band. whose sound has influences from hip hop and hardcore and takes us back to certain nineties moments, with Suicidal Tendencies and Limp Bizkit, Among others, as references. What we see is an interesting, entertaining work that shows signs of a bright future for this group.
Felipe Ortega ft. Burning Caravan – The Tide
Colombian artist Felipe Ortega was best known for his work as a producer and member of electronic music projects, most notably Sagan. Now he turns the page, and in collaboration with Burning Caravan, one of the hottest bands on the Bogotá scene, he presents an intimate and nostalgic track, acoustic in its construction. The resulting video is beautiful, thanks to the excellent selection of landscapes and the exceptional 4k photography., which gives a special color to the auditory result of the production. Great work.
