Slowkiss – Time
Amidst so many expressions of exaggerated joy in times with little reason to celebrate, it's good to occasionally receive a faint, dark ray of intense, old-school music. shoegaze. From Chile comes the second single from Slowkiss's new album, and it comes with somber imagery., with a suitable ambiance that gives even more strength to the sound impact. Excellent photography and understated editing that, without being over the top, draws attention to the artists and maintains a constant interest in the video. A job well done.
Armadillo – Fractal
Within what we might simplistically and irresponsibly call "experimental music," this intriguing project survives within the Colombian art scene. Its sound could be described as a blend of contemporary jazz and textures from the Andean highlands. It doesn't fit within the confines of mainstream pop music; instead, it freely and daringly challenges established structures and pushes beyond pre-defined boundaries, achieving remarkable results. Just as its sound is expressed, in this case its audiovisual projection is also expressed. On screen we have a fascinating sum of liquid fluids of different tones that seem to be taken from the already classic Lava lamps, which in the mix that is done in the editing, achieves, together with the audio, a pleasant feeling of fullness.
Sergio Ch. – Family and wars
We know the Argentinian Sergio Ch. from legendary bands like Los Natas, Ararat, and Soldati. We're familiar with his intense works, his corrosive sound, his caustic artistic intentions, offering little respite or auditory comfort. We always associate his music with a biting exquisiteness unsuitable for the faint of heart, not even, as in these cases, when he takes up the acoustic guitar, and then we suspect, mistakenly of course, that the viscosity will loosen. Everything is wonderfully somber, and this clip accurately expresses that., With a beautiful use of black and white, sensitive and skillful photography, and the use of reverse shots that completes the picture for a great visual result. Fantastic.
