May we offer some suggestions on how to truly support the music scene in your city? And may we briefly address your role in the artistic and musical events taking place in your area?
-Go to a performance by a local band or artist at least once a month.
Buy your ticket without complaint, without haggling over the price. No one has ever seen you ask for discounts on tickets to international festivals, so don't hurt your neighbors' budgets. They are, in most cases, the concert organizers and depend on every ticket to cover expenses.
If you use any digital platform to listen to new songs, take the opportunity to discover and listen to the talent from your city. They will receive payment for your support.
-Share new clips from local artists on your social media. Help spread the word about their work. It's free for you, and they'll reach more people through your promotion.
-If the bands are selling t-shirts, hats, stickers, their printed CDs, or anything else, instead of drinking all the beers, set aside some of your money to get some of those items and, when you get them, proudly show them to all your friends.
Remember: It is these artists who are building the soundtrack of their city. Don't forget it.
