It is on the Bandcamp platform where you can see what the global independent underground is up to. There are artists (an increasing number) who have decided that their approach is to upload their music directly, without intermediaries, and make it available to a specific audience that wants to move away from the way other digital platforms work., where they're treated as mere numbers or sonic filler in a vast musical jungle. We've said it before, and many times, for those who are going beyond what they accumulate on their Spotify or Apple Music servers, We recommend browsing Bandcamp, Listen to their daily themed reports and find out about the latest news from those who make their own unique noises above the statistics. It is thanks to that open forum, courteous in negotiations and active among those seeking a true difference, that we can, as is the case today, put together a fun special about Colombian electronic music at its most alternative levels, bringing three recent publications that deserve to be reviewed.

Here we go:

ZangerForceArkham Asylum

The first album to be reviewed is presented by a DJ/producer from the city of Bogotá, focused mostly on the Hard scene, such as Hardcore, Hard Tech, Hard dance, Among other things, these are styles that are difficult (if not impossible) to find in the more commercial clubs of Colombian cities. This is unbridled euphoria, or, as the artist himself calls it, «"sonic delirium, where sanity crumbles and darkness reigns.". It's a two-song EP that the listener can take in two different ways: Some, accustomed to these genres, know that amidst the strategic repetition of textures and percussions, one can find a very powerful energizer that invites one to healthily smash their skull against the walls., Or, surely for many of you (who have every right to feel whatever you want), you will believe that what you hear on your stereo It is a torture machine, capable of making them confess to killing JF Kennedy., not being old enough to have been in Dallas that day, not by a long shot.
It's a drill that shakes the speakers, an additional crazy feature that can turn your stomach. or it can release unnecessary monsters from our body. For us, it is an interesting job that deserves more attention when it comes to breaking rules and believing that life can have more auditory danger than avoiding boredom.

Tom TomsThe red ray

Now we move to gentler territory, to less controversial sounds. Here's a three-track EP from Medellín., perhaps the city with the most vibrant electronic music scene of its own in the country. This work was done by an artist formerly known as QK, who, since changing his name, has decided to delve deeper into renewing the club culture of his city., proposing a friendly approach with different dance styles, including house, breakbeat, dub and techno.
What Tom Toms presents is fun, optimistic, hypnotic, and profound in its instrumental mix. The best moment on this album, in our opinion, is the first track., From heaven to earth, a funky motivational track, with brilliantly crafted guitar textures. Likewise, all this material can easily be the highlight of a massive party, or, if we prefer intimacy, the perfect moment for a solitary drive on a clear road. It's simply a matter of letting go of the sentimentality and deciding on the right moment for such a celebration.

Cruel Decisions The Gorge (Album Preview)

We're still in Medellín, and we return to darker, more mysterious textures. From the local label Milagrosa MM™, We bring you a work that seems more suited to the soundtrack of a nighttime movie than a nightclub. These are three recordings of intense resonance, perhaps crafted to be listened to in a dark room, where we might guess, with hesitant steps, where the limits of construction lie and where a wobbly obstacle can be felt. Perhaps it can be a sonic motif to help us guess what urban space we're trapped in and who might be waiting for us outside. Perhaps the appeal of this EP lies in the enigma its development may generate., what its function might be when reproduced or what it manages to generate in the audience. Any excuse can serve to encourage listening, especially if the attentive audience is curious and free of prejudice.
