An introductory text: We often hear that the music market is unfair, cruel, and ignores a lot of talent that deserves more attention. Many fans claim that numerous artists are left out, even those with good voices and who play their instruments flawlessly. That may be true; in fact, I would say this is a heartless industry that belongs to the unscrupulous and the wealthy., But I can't just stay at that point and pat on the back every creative who complains about not receiving audience consideration. Rather, I allow myself to question, at times, the systematic abuse that we think this business contains. I believe that in this environment many formulas are repeated and thousands reiterate and copy what some successful examples have achieved, but they do not understand that once the model has been squeezed dry, there is no room for wonder. The bad advice of those "experts" who suggest emulating and repeating what others have said and done has very little chance of success. I believe that, in the age of digital platforms... Spaces open up for what we might call "unusual beauties", That is, what the most daring, the most experimental, the most audacious within their field propose. And that's where I think reviewing [the work] comes in perfectly. Anomalousto, Thaissa's latest album.

Who is Thaissa? Thaissa Bula is a musician born in Brazil, to a Colombian father and an Ecuadorian mother, currently residing in Bogotá. His musical project is eclectic and fuses neo-soul with pop, rock, hip-hop, electronica and various Latin influences. At a time when the Colombian capital is attracting many female artists whose work relies mainly on acoustic music, with varying degrees of success, What's interesting about Thaissa (without meaning to disparage the others) is that there is joy in disorder, in play, in irregularity. Note: The ten tracks on this album don't get lost in incoherence; rather, they seek a different logic that captivates the listener without making them feel uncomfortable. Remember: Comfort does not produce curiosity; it is taken for granted and can be heard without disturbing anyone. Of course, if you, a fan of the big hits that are broadcast on commercial radio, can flee this listening session with our full permission, but if, as almost always happens in these parts, you want to break a little from the pattern that surpasses you elsewhere, It is likely that this exercise, full of jazz spirit and a refreshing mischievous spirit that runs through this recording, will cheer you up from the start.

Thaissa creates unexpected melodies, It gives special volume to the bass and percussion (great mixing job), He combines languages in his discourse, and attempts (and succeeds) to seduce with everything he proclaims, with the style and audacity with which he does so. Is it mainstream music? Perhaps not, but If it's music that blazes trails, that doesn't ask for permission, that gets excited by audacity, In courage, in being unique. I insist: unusual beauty, the kind that truly transcends.

Here are 36 minutes of music that can redefine what is happening in the independent music scene in Bogota. There's no need to be afraid; what's happening is that Thaissa is opening a door that few dare to open, for fear of failure. I say this, having received a few reproaches along the way: We cannot allow this environment to remain dormant, and it is better to burn out than to fade away. And Thaissa, I'm sure, has her best days ahead of her.
