These are turbulent times, some radical might think, They require equally turbulent music. These are confusing days, filled with a cruelty we thought we had already defeated, but which returns stronger than ever., And some will think that the best way to reduce the damage is to interpret, with the new instruments at hand, the caustic feeling that surrounds us. It's response and reaction; everything can be solved by increasing the noise and controlling the tide with new, distorted waves, brand-new textures that mold, with a panting dance, the resistance to evil. Of course, others will ask us not to exaggerate., that what we are hearing in the new recording of the Argentinian project Utah, It's a fitting return to 90s electronica, an effective blend of influences from major acts like Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Chemical Brothers, Justice, and Daft Punk. These guys from Rosario, regardless of what they think of our suspicions, bring their brand-new EP, "Llamo," to life. Minimal Hysteria, 3 remarkable songs, a mix of rock, hardcore, techno and other industrial textures, sound shield to defeat anxiety and despair with their own weapons.
Minimal Hysteria It was composed, written and performed by Javier Núñez and Alan Mansur and includes topics such as Bruscopy, which reflects feelings of disappointment and the expectation of a drastic transformation in the city; Necrovisions, where the intensity is accentuated by the repetition of «"He gets violent"; y Parainsidio, which oscillates between a loss of will and a plea for discretion. This EP emerged from a series of intense studio sessions, enriched by the creativity of music producer Francisco Cirilo. As the band itself points out, the process focused on rescuing traditional methods, prioritizing an organic exploration in the studio, where the drums and bass served as a starting point to shape the sounds and rhythms of the EP. In the post-production stage, the talent of Augusto Brasseur (Microtron). The result is a fusion of frenetic and distorted rhythms, intertwining various genres without losing the unmistakable essence of rock as its foundation. A little less than twelve minutes of contemporary euphoria and unbridled energy.
Minimal hysteria It is a record with which this project, based for some time in Buenos Aires, It aims to expand its reach and become more widely known in the global electronic music scene. The truth is that the members of Utah present enough arguments in their music to be taken seriously, at least among those who are fans of these sonic constructions, nostalgic for the aggression of previous decades, without losing awareness of the needs and anxieties of today.
The noise can only be silenced with more noise.
