Editor's note: The truth is that this playlist takes shape as soon as we remember Maria Gabriela Epumer. It all begins from the moment that, by happy accidents on a rainy afternoon in Bogota, We listened again to his version of Canción para los días de la vida, originally by Luis Alberto Spinetta. We met the beautiful Epumer when she came to the Colombian capital, to play with Charly García, in a very strange performance at El Campín Stadium, where the stage was on the running track and no one had access to the football field. The day before, Charly's manager at the time, a friend of the family, invited us to meet at the hotel to talk about how desperate he was about working with the star. He had to cater to his every whim., And that night, his mission, at García's express wish and demand, was to find him a bar with a piano to play in, All this in a city where, frankly, and especially back then, few keyboards were a permanent fixture in any nightclub or entertainment venue. Amidst this chaos, we managed to meet Maria Gabriela, and as we chatted, she surprised us with a piece of information: She was a follower of Zonagirante.com. Believe us, that filled us with immense pride, one of the greatest in our history. We were able to chat a couple of times through Facebook Messenger. And shortly after, we learned of his unexpected death. Every time we listen to her personal music, we're glad to have crossed paths with her in our lives, and now that we've put together a playlist of love songs, We express our love for her, wherever she may be. (Oh, yes. That night Charly played in a piano bar that few people in Bogotá knew about, and it was a sensation).

Now, let's get down to business: Love. Valentine's Day. The tranquility or the bitterness (however you want to confront it) of being single. Dating apps. If you match with someone, you expect several things that sometimes don't happen. We hope to find a nice person, who laughs at your bad jokes, who speaks clearly, who smiles, who has in mind the kiss they desire and may never give, who has not fallen into the ranks of the far right and, most importantly: who listens to good music. Yes, that's it, that she listens to good music, that she escapes the noise of the worst radio stations, that she isn't trapped in the horde of trendy songs, Let them know that music saves, comforts us, and makes us want to live life to the fullest.. May her personal soundtrack perfectly guide her steps and desires. And since we're being demanding, we ask that she knows who David Bowie was, and understands that music didn't begin with Taylor Swift. and that it has a tune that allows her to cry in peace (And if it's by Tom Waits, may it never leave your life). Well, that's a bit much. But that's what it's all about, dreaming, because, if life isn't perfect by any means, Unless the deception of desire accompanies us for a while, before we become disillusioned.

We've put together a playlist full of love songs, some of them precious references to timeless classics. It's a list that includes giants like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Nirvana, Tom Jobim, Cerati, Aterciopelados, Elvis, Juan Gabriel, and others. The performances come from all over Latin America and together total one hundred minutes in length. Speaking of soundtracks, We hope our audience will adopt this list as good company for their upcoming battles of love., whether in company, or to provide a soundtrack to those small and unfortunate moments of rejection and loneliness.

To close this note, please excuse our dramatic and pompous tone, but let us borrow the words of Shakespeare, when he says in The Merchant of Venice, «"The man who has no music within himself, nor is moved by the harmony of sweet sounds, is made for treachery, stratagems, and plunder."» May they receive many kisses now and always, with good tunes playing in their headphones.
