We return to our principles expressed in a previous article: Although we may not like many of the things that have happened in the planning, construction and definition of the twenty-fifth edition of Rock al Parque, the music is not tainted And what this is all about is enjoying great bands and their songs, romantically hoping that some of their tracks will become anthems that resonate throughout Simón Bolívar Park. To get us ready for the festival, we've selected what we consider to be the best. The five most interesting Colombian musical offerings for this weekend.

Morphonia: It was a grave mistake to leave this group out of the festival. And it was all due to stubbornness, a senseless bureaucratic decision, and the arrogance of the organizers who refused to admit they were wrong to exclude this band from the Special Shows lineup because they were "too old.". They were included at the last minute due to a scheduling dispute between the Idartes Music management and Doctor Krápula (later presented as an absurd conflict of paperwork). Well, we are delighted by their presence at the festival, since, despite the years, they have managed to remain and even grow in their artistic intentions, and this is proven by what has happened with their latest album. Talking Old Ghetto, perhaps one of the best Colombian productions of this time.

Presentation time: Monday, July 1, 6:55 pm Bio Stage.

Pornomotora: One of the groups historically associated with the festival returns to the park. After its leader lived for a time in Mexico and the United States, he has returned to Colombia., And it has regained its strength and power, presenting a mature show, with sonic evolution and the classic songs of all time. Their music remains relevant, and their raw, powerful sound continues to move audiences. Their performance is sure to have thousands of fans singing and shouting along to many of their songs.

Performance time: Monday, July 1, 5:55 pm Lake Stage.

Altered States: A historic band from Medellín, whose main members live in Bogotá and Los Angeles and who get together whenever they have the opportunity to do so for large events. Their trajectory is remarkable, and they know how to sustain the good work of nostalgia and the subtle advance of their progress in their development. They retain the elegance and refined touch in their audiovisual aesthetic, and their maturity clearly works in their favor. Their latest recordings, while not achieving the same success as those from previous decades, are interesting and deserve careful listening by the festival's younger audience.

Performance time: Monday, July 1, 6:55 pm Lake Stage.

Burning WatersAt this point, we need to be clear: We are not happy with the selection of new district bands. It is not truly representative of what is happening on the Bogotá music scene today. They left out many indie groups that have achieved greater interaction and interest among the city's audience, and to top it off, only one of the twenty groups selected had a female vocalist. However, among those chosen, we can mention Aguas Ardientes. He stands out for his good humor, his boldness and his good attitude on stage. They're worth giving a chance.

Performance time: Sunday, June 30, 6:00 pm Lake Stage.

Behind the spikesMuch of the Bogota metal scene bores us to tears with its obviousness, its pseudo-medieval rhetoric, and its post-macho posturing. Luckily, there are some great exceptions, and this power trio is one of them. His work is sustained by well-rounded themes, direct sound, and clear words, without getting bogged down in legends of princes and demons from other latitudes. They are in full growth and this will be their first Rock al Parque, but they deserve to be attended to and followed by the Bogota fans, since they speak the language that every ordinary inhabitant of this city wants to hear.

Performance time: Saturday, June 29, 7:25 pm Lake Stage.
